Article I – Membership and Dues<\/strong><\/p>\n Section 1: Annual Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n The membership year shall be from the month of application through the last day of the following twelve months.<\/p>\n Dues shall be established annually by the executive committee, subject to ratification by the Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n Section 3: Active Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n Dues for active members shall be determined by the Executive Committee.<\/p>\n Life membership shall be at a rate of fifteen (15) times the affiliated membership dues, and may be paid in a lump sum or in five annual installments; each installment to be one- fifth of the total amount due. (Note: There is presently a moratorium on new life memberships.)<\/p>\n Associate membership dues shall be the same as active membership dues.<\/p>\n Upon retirement, active members shall be entitled to continue membership with all the benefits of active membership, excluding a subscription to the Technology Educator. Retirees may have the option of receiving the Technology Educator by a payment of twelve dollar ($12.00) fee which will be approximately equal to the costs of publication and postage.<\/p>\n Section 7: Honorary Members<\/strong><\/p>\n There shall be no assessment of dues for honorary members.<\/p>\n Sustaining membership shall be in the form of a donation of at least $100 per year.<\/p>\n Dues for student members shall be ten dollars per year except for Technology Education college seniors whose dues will be waived for their senior year. Technology Education college student membership association dues will be ten dollars ($10.00); College student membership applications must attach current valid evidence of enrollment at a pre-service technology education college<\/p>\n Elementary school members will be unified with ITEAA elementary school membership.<\/p>\n Section 11:<\/strong>\u00a0In consideration of the dues as\u00a0stated in the foregoing sections of these By-laws, it shall be understood that all mailing shall be on an individual basis.<\/p>\n Section 12:<\/strong>\u00a0Joint 精东影业and ITEEA membership is available with reduced rates for both memberships.<\/p>\n Article II – Qualifications of the Elected Officers<\/strong><\/p>\n To be nominated for, and serve as an elected officer of this Association, a member must be:<\/p>\n An active member in both a regional Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association and in the New York State Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association for at least one full membership year before election.<\/p>\n Either a present or past member of the Representative Assembly or have served this Association as member of a standing committee or as a member of the executive committee or board..<\/p>\n Willing to serve if elected.<\/p>\n Article III – Election of Officers<\/strong><\/p>\n Section 1:\u00a0<\/strong>The president-elect, vice president, secretary and treasurer will be voted upon by all members of the representative assembly.\u00a0 A majority vote of all eligible members in attendance is required.<\/p>\n Section 2:\u00a0<\/strong>District Vice President’s will require a majority vote of representatives in attendance from regional associations within their respective district.<\/p>\n Section 3:<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be no proxy voting.\u00a0 Only members in attendance will be permitted to vote.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Article IV – Terms of Office<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.1<\/strong>\u00a0President:\u00a0 One or two yeas as determined by the Representative Assembly<\/p>\n 1.2<\/strong>\u00a0President Elect: One year, if president is doing a two year term, the President Elect will be voted on again in the second year.\u00a0(The President Elect shall automatically assume the office of President when the position becomes vacant.)<\/p>\n 1.3<\/strong>\u00a0Immediate Past President: One year (shall assume office for one year following tenure as president)\u00a0 If current president serves a second term, the immediate past president’s term will be increased to two years.<\/p>\n 1.4<\/strong>\u00a0Vice President: One year<\/p>\n 1.5\u00a0<\/strong>Secretary. Two years (to be elected on alternating years from the Treasurer)<\/p>\n 1.6\u00a0<\/strong>Treasurer: Two years (to be elected on alternating years from the Secretary)<\/p>\n 1.7\u00a0<\/strong>Executive Secretary: The Executive Secretary shall be appointed for a two year term.<\/p>\n 1.8\u00a0<\/strong>Editor: The position of Editor shall be appointed for a three year (3) term<\/p>\n 1.9<\/strong>\u00a0District Vice President: Two year term (Northeastern, Western, and Far Western District Vice Presidents to be elected on alternate years from the Southeastern, Metropolitan, and Central District Vice Presidents).<\/p>\n 1.10\u00a0<\/strong>Membership Secretary: The position of Membership Secretary shall be a two-year (2) term.<\/p>\n 1.11\u00a0<\/strong>The State Education Department Liaison: two-year (2) term.<\/p>\n 1.12\u00a0<\/strong>Advisory Council Liaison shall be appointed two-year (2) term.<\/p>\n 1.13\u00a0<\/strong>STEM Collaborative Liaison shall be appointed for a two year (2) term.<\/p>\n Duties of the Officers, Liaisons and Committee Chairs and Special Appointments\u00a0(To be included with the 精东影业Procedures & Practices Manual\/VPs Handbook, etc.)<\/p>\n Section 1:\u00a0<\/strong>The President shall:<\/p>\n 1.1\u00a0<\/strong>Preside at all regular and special Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings.*<\/p>\n 1.2\u00a0<\/strong>Preside at the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 1.3\u00a0<\/strong>Appoint all committees chairs and liaisons not otherwise named.<\/p>\n 1.4\u00a0<\/strong>Shall coordinate the 精东影业direction each year.<\/p>\n 1.5\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report at each regular Executive Board meeting.<\/p>\n 1.6\u00a0<\/strong>Co-sign written orders (vouchers) for final disbursements in accordance with the approved budget.<\/p>\n 1.7\u00a0<\/strong>Attend or arrange for representation at NYSCEA, NYSACTE, ITEEA and other affiliate meetings.<\/p>\n 1.8\u00a0<\/strong>Approve all materials prior to submission to the 精东影业Web Master for posting.<\/p>\n 1.9\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare and submit regular articles and updates to the President’s News page of the web site.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Annual Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.10\u00a0<\/strong>Serve as Executive Board liaison to the Annual Conference Committee<\/p>\n 1.11\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare a letter for initial conference mailings and promotional materials<\/p>\n 1.12\u00a0<\/strong>Approve the conference mailings, program, speakers, and schedule of events<\/p>\n 1.13\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare a welcome letter\/thank you letter for inclusion in the conference packet<\/p>\n 1.14\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare special award nominations to the Awards Chair<\/p>\n 1.15<\/strong>\u00a0Prepare invitations for special guests and affiliate liaisons<\/p>\n 1.16\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare speeches for conference functions at the request of the conference chair<\/p>\n 1.17\u00a0<\/strong>In preparation for the Annual Representative Assembly<\/p>\n 1.18\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare an annual report summarizing the activities of the Association during his\/her year as President for presentation at the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n In preparation for the final meeting of the year and upcoming year<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.19\u00a0<\/strong>Forward new Executive Board and committee information to the Executive Secretary to update the 精东影业stationary and other documents for distribution.<\/p>\n 1.20 Assist<\/strong>\u00a0President-elect to organize\/schedule welcoming\/orientation sessions.<\/p>\n 1.21\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare thank you letters to Executive Board Members School Districts<\/p>\n Section 2:\u00a0<\/strong>The President-elect shall:<\/p>\n 2.1\u00a0<\/strong>Attend all regular and special Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings.*<\/p>\n 2.2\u00a0<\/strong>Attend the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 2.3\u00a0<\/strong>Serve in the absence of the President.<\/p>\n 2.4\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report at each regular Executive Board meeting.<\/p>\n 2.5\u00a0<\/strong>Attend NYSCEA, NYSACTE, ITEEA or other meetings at the request of the President.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Annual Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n 2.6\u00a0<\/strong>Assist with arrangements for TOY awards ceremonies.<\/p>\n 2.7\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare a welcome letter\/letter of introduction for inclusion in the conference packet.<\/p>\n 2.8\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare speeches for conference functions at the request of the President and Conference Chair.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Annual Representative Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n 2.9\u00a0<\/strong>Consult with the treasurer to prepare a proposed budget for the upcoming year for approval by the Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 2.10\u00a0<\/strong>Serve as Executive Board liaison to the Annual Representative Assembly Committee<\/p>\n 2.11\u00a0<\/strong>Assist the Representative Assembly Floor Manager regarding details of the Representative Assembly such as delegates, membership status, facilities, etc.<\/p>\n 2.12\u00a0<\/strong>Work with the Executive Secretary to establish and distribute the agenda.<\/p>\n 2.13\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report summarizing activities for distribution at the Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 2.14\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare a statement of direction for the Association for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n In preparation for the last meeting of the year and upcoming year<\/strong><\/p>\n 2.15\u00a0<\/strong>Submit to the Executive Board at its last meeting of the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n 2.16\u00a0<\/strong>Proposed changes to the current charges of all committees.<\/p>\n 2.17\u00a0<\/strong>Proposed additions and\/or deletions of special committees.<\/p>\n 2.18\u00a0<\/strong>Recommended appointments for chairpersons of committees and special appointments for the next fiscal year.<\/p>\n 2.19\u00a0<\/strong>Organize and schedule a welcoming\/orientation session for new executive board members and committee chairs. (Possibly in conjunction with the last fiscal meeting of the year)<\/p>\n 2.20\u00a0<\/strong>Schedule tentative dates for executive board meetings for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n 2.21\u00a0<\/strong>Organize and schedule a welcoming\/orientation session for Regional Presidents.\u00a0(Possibly in conjunction with the first Executive Board meeting of the year)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Section 3\u00a0<\/strong>The Immediate Past President shall:<\/p>\n 3.1\u00a0<\/strong>Attend all regular and special Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings*<\/p>\n 3.2\u00a0<\/strong>Attend the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 3.3\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report at each regular Executive Board meeting.<\/p>\n 3.4\u00a0<\/strong>Make recommendations with respect to the functioning of the Executive Board and Executive Committee.<\/p>\n 3.5\u00a0<\/strong>In preparation for the annual Representative Assembly<\/p>\n 3.6\u00a0<\/strong>Publicize, solicit, and coordinate the nomination and election of Executive Board members as defined in the Bylaws.<\/p>\n 3.7\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report summarizing activities for distribution at the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Section 4:\u00a0<\/strong>The Vice-President shall:<\/p>\n 4.1\u00a0<\/strong>Attend all regular and special Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings.*<\/p>\n 4.2\u00a0<\/strong>Attend the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 4.3<\/strong>\u00a0Arrange accommodations (meeting meals and sleeping arrangements) for all Executive Board meetings.<\/p>\n 4.4\u00a0<\/strong>Serve in the absence of the President and President-elect.<\/p>\n 4.5\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report at each regular Executive Board meeting.<\/p>\n 4.6\u00a0<\/strong>Perform duties that may be assigned by the President.<\/p>\n 4.7\u00a0<\/strong>Supervise Standing and Special Committees.<\/p>\n 4.8\u00a0<\/strong>Assist District Vice-Presidents with the planning and support of district mini-conferences.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Annual Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n 4.9\u00a0<\/strong>Assist the Awards Chairperson in planning and execution of all awards functions at the annual conference.<\/p>\n In preparation for the annual Representative Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n 4.10\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report summarizing activities for distribution at the Representative Assembly<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Section 5:\u00a0<\/strong>The Treasurer shall:<\/p>\n 5.1\u00a0<\/strong>Attend all regular and special Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings.*<\/p>\n 5.2\u00a0<\/strong>Attend the Annual Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 5.3\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report at each regular Executive Board meeting.<\/p>\n 5.4\u00a0<\/strong>Act as the custodian of all funds deposited to the credit of the Association.<\/p>\n 5.5<\/strong>\u00a0Disburse funds on written order signed by the President.<\/p>\n 6.6\u00a0<\/strong>Keep an exact record of all receipts and expenditures and submit an itemized report of the same with vouchers to each meeting or to the Executive Committee upon demand.<\/p>\n 6.7\u00a0<\/strong>Receive and collect all moneys due the Association and deposit them in an interest bearing account in a bank regulated by New York State banking laws<\/p>\n 6.8<\/strong>\u00a0Prepare and file State and Federal Income Tax Returns before the deadline set by the IRS.<\/p>\n 6.9\u00a0<\/strong>Maintain a separate accounting for those funds received in payment toward Life Memberships. Such funds shall be disbursed only upon unanimous vote of the Executive Committee.<\/p>\n 6.10\u00a0<\/strong>Submit Association treasury books and accounts to an Auditing Committee at each annual meeting of the Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n 6.11\u00a0<\/strong>Arrange for a certified public accountant, at Association expense, to review Association treasury books and accounts at the end of his\/her term(s) in office.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Annual Representative Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n 6.12\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare an annual budget for the ensuing year to be submitted to the annual Representative Assembly for approval.<\/p>\n 6.13\u00a0<\/strong>Submit a written report summarizing activities for distribution at the Representative Assembly.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Section 2:\u00a0<\/strong>Officers shall assume their duties at the beginning of the fiscal year. Installation is to take place at the first Executive Board meeting of that year.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Section 3:\u00a0<\/strong>The fiscal year of the Association shall be from July first through June thirtieth.<\/p>\n
